Senior Product Design Engineer - Automotive Systems

Full-Time Position
Lead the design and development of powertrain components, body structures, interior and exterior trims, and chassis systems for automotive applications. Apply expertise in advanced features related to hybrid, solar, and electric vehicle technologies, as well as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and connected vehicle systems.
Job Description:
Perform reviews and analyses using methodologies such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan (DVP), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), and 8D problem-solving with cross-functional teams. Manage project forecasting, budgeting, and resource allocation to achieve operational and financial objectives. Utilize CAD software tools, including CATIA, NX, and CREO, for 3D modeling, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and tolerance stack-up analysis. Collaborate with suppliers and prototype shops to identify cost-effective solutions and implement design improvements. Conduct fit and functional testing of prototype components to validate design integrity and performance. Deliver technical presentations, proposals, and comprehensive documentation, including project reports. Travel to various unanticipated client locations with frequency and duration determined by client needs.
Special Skills:
Position requires a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or related field and six (6) years experience. Six (6) years experience in: Product Design, Automotive Subsystems, ADAS, hybrid/solar/electric vehicle technologies, casting/forging/plastic/sheetmetal design. Six (6) years experience in the following tools and technologies: Team Center, Smaragd, SWAN, CATIA, NX, CREO, Hypermesh, and NASTRAN. Travel to various unanticipated client locations with frequency and duration determined by client needs. Travel is to various unanticipated client locations within the United States. Travel is up to [50%] of time and is based upon the demands of our clients. Travel will be to work with clients to ensure that the highest level of client satisfaction is achieved for each project thus actual frequency will be determined upon the needs of varying clients. Relocation is required.
